Winter Transportation!

XWARN provides a service during the winter to Greene Memorial Hospital (GMH) in Xenia, Ohio. Each winter during severe winter weather (Level 2 or 3 Snow Emergencies) XWARN members volunteer their time & 4WD vehicles to transport GMH employees to and from work, to insure their patients maintain adequate medical care.

GMH employees should contact the GMH PBX Office (Operator) for details during Level 2 or 3 emergencies. An XWARN member will be radio dispatched to your home to pick you up and have you into to work. Planning is essential because the number of trips is limited.

Level 1 Snow Emergency: roadways are hazardous because of blowing and drifting snow. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution.

Level 2 Snow Emergency: roadways are hazardous because of blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Employees should contact employers to see if they should report to work. If travel is necessary, drivers should travel with extreme caution.

Level 3 Snow Emergency: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. Travel is prohibited unless absolutely necessary. Contact your employer to see if you are expected at work. Reckless or unnecessary driving may be cited as a minor misdemeanor - failure to comply with a lawful order - and many lead to a $100 fine. If you are in an accident that causes an injury while driving illegally, you can be cited for a fourth degree misdemeanor.
